There are regulations in the United Kingdom that ensure water tanks and their internal linings don’t contaminate the contents of the tank. Any tank or coating material used should be approved by the WRAS.
As with water tank installations, SPES carry out a complete survey and work in conjunction with customers in the Water Tank Reline & Repairs Process to understand their specific requirements and any constraints such as the maintenance of the water supply and meeting agreed schedules, providing advice and identify the most cost effective option.

The product we use at SPES offers a flexible lining and coating for water tanks. It is a WRAS approved solvent-free polyurethane coating specifically designed for relining potable and drinking water tanks. It provides excellent protection against erosion and corrosion. We offer a 10-year extended guarantee option on all our cold water storage tank lining systems. 

A developed lining system, a spray-applied Polyurea, is also used. This is touch dry in five seconds and can be applied to large areas very quickly. The water tank reline system is WRAS approved and Regulation 31/DWI approved meaning that compliancy is assured. The Polyurea lining system has fantastic properties of elongation and flexibility with zero risk of cracking or failure.
At SPES, detailed specifications of work are prepared, risk assessments and method statements and a timetable for delivery are prepared so whatever product you decide to use, we can manage the water tank reline, repair or refurbishment project from start to finish.
